When we open Adobe Reader it takes some time to load, it is not as fast as notepad opens. It is a very good software except the fact that it is extremely slow. So Today I am explaining a small tutorial to make adobe Reader Faster.
Note:- I tried this trick on Adobe reader 9.0 ( but it works with older versions as well)
Before Applying this Trick You should close Adobe Reader if it is opened Already. The Concept behind this trick is moving plugins to optional Folder, When Adobe Reader Starts some Plugins are loaded, each plugin is there to provide some functionality. But We do not often uses them. So its a waste to Load them always.
- Go to the installation folder of acrobat reader (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\)
- Move all the files and folders from the “plug_ins” directory to the “Optional” directory. (cut and paste the files NOT copy & paste). Also make sure that acrobat reader is not open else it will lock the files and not allow you to move the files.
The Reader will configure itself once again for the first time you open it. It will just restore the most important files back to “plug_ins” folder.
Now your acrobat reader will load very fast and almost as good as notepad.
